Major tax revenue, construction work, and a permanent technical staff, with very little demand on schools, traffic, or public services in return.

Will it drain our water?
No. The cooling system is sealed, closed-loop, and non-evaporative. It is filled one time with approximately 464,250 gallons of water mixed with propylene glycol, and that fluid stays in the loop rather than being consumed. Day to day the facility uses about 3,800 gallons, roughly what a dozen homes use, covering restrooms, office use, maintenance, and humidification.

This project will not use any additional power beyond what is already used at the existing site. No new substation is required, the existing power is being relocated to the new facility, and all new lines and infrastructure are paid for by CleanSpark at no cost to the citizens of Washington County.

No, the opposite. The county tax digest is approximately $900 million today. This project adds approximately $1.6 billion, and county tax receipts are projected to grow from just over $20 million annually to approximately $56 million annually.
